Blazers Shutout Tulsa

The Oklahoma City Blazers shutout the Tulsa Oilers tonight by a score of 7-0. Blazers goaltender Jakub Krejci was solid in net making 24 saves and preserving the shutout. It was the Blazers 20th win of the season.

OKC was dominant from the drop of the puck firing a season high 60 shots on the Tulsa netminders. Forward Matt Levene led the charge with a pair of goals while Drake Johnson, Devin Burchett, Alex Smith, Petr Kobes and Scott Sharkey added single tallies. The Blazers were without several key players out on suspension from last weeks festivities with the Oilers, star forward Kirill Romanov was out along with Viktor Ekk and Colton Nelson. Blazers were also without Pavel Oxiuota who is serving his indefinite suspension and top defenceman Lubos Vacek who just returned from the Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL. Vacek was diagnosed with strep throat this morning and is expected to miss tomorrow’s game in Tulsa also.

“Tonight was one of the most complete games we have played all year. We pieced together a lineup and the guys made it happen. I was very very pleased with our depth guys, Zac Houck centered a line of (Kaleb) Foreman and (Alex) Yuk, they were awesome all night for us. It was a heck of a job by everyone to bye in and execute the gameplan,” explained head coach Tyler Fleck.

The Blazers and Oilers conclude the season series tomorrow morning in Tulsa at the Oilers Ice Center. Gametime is an early 10:30 AM. You can watch the game live on Fasthockey.com.
