Season Ends in Division Championship

Blazers season ends

The Oklahoma City Blazers amazing inaugural season has come to an end in the Division Championships. The Blazers lost the deciding game 3 to the El Paso Rhino’s who once again claim the Midwest division title and play the Ogden Mustangs in the Conference finals.

The Blazers gave the defending national champions all they could handle the entire season becoming the only team in history to beat the Rhino’s twice in the same season. Not only did the first year Blazers beat the Rhino’s 2 times they beat them 2 more times on top of that. Three of the wins versus the Rhino’s came in El Paso where up until the Blazers first win in the Sierra Events Center, in El Paso, the Rhino’s hadn’t been beaten on home ice in almost 2 years. But in the end, the deciding game 3 the Rhino’s veteran lineup proved to be too much for OKC.

The Blazers and Rhino’s have undoubtedly established the best rivalry the WSHL in just 1 season.

Oklahoma City now heads into the offseason a year wiser and ready to begin putting the pieces in place for another  run at a first ever Thorne Cup Title.

Stay tuned for exciting news about the 2015-16 season and ticket and venue information!!
