Ryan Cagnoni to NCAA

Cagnoni Makes NCAA Comittment

The Oklahoma City Blazers announced today that Captain Ryan Cagnoni has committed to the NCAA’s Augsburg Auggies. The fiery Colorado native joined the Blazers along with his younger brother Kyle in time for the WSHL’s Las Vegas shootout in December and made an immediate impact for OKC.

“Nobody deserves an opportunity to play in the NCAA more than Ryan Cagnoni. Augsburg is very very lucky to have him for the next 4 years,” said head coach Tyler Fleck. “Ryan is everything you would ask for in a hockey player, a teammate and a human being. His work ethic and determination is unmatched. Cags joined us halfway through the season and made an immediate impact. He will go down as one of the most respected players to ever put on a Blazer’s jersey. I am honored to have had the chance to coach him.”

The elder Cagnoni was electric in front of Blazer fans with his relentless work ethic that notched him 12 goals and 20 assists in just 20 regular season games for OKC.

“I’d like to thank the Blazers organization, the coaching staff, and the team for giving me the opportunity to join the team midseason. I’m grateful for having such great fans, billet families, family and coaches for wanting me to succeed everyday. I’m excited to be attending Augsburg in the fall to pursue my education and get to play hockey with a winning program,” expressed Cagnoni.

“On behalf of the entire Blazers organization and the Blazers fans, we want to congratulate Ryan and wish him the best of luck at the next level. I know the best is yet to come for him.”

Ryan Cagnoni becomes the 3rd NCAA comitted player from last years Midwest Division Championship team to make an announcement in the last 3 weeks.
