Heartbreak in OKC

Blazers 3 Colorado 4 game 3

The Oklahoma City Blazers season officially came to a heartbreaking end as they lost a do or die, winner take all game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Blazers came within one shot of advancing to the Thorne Cup finals losing to the Colorado Eagles in overtime 4-3.

Oklahoma City got out to an early lead for the 3rd consecutive game only to see the Eagles scratch and claw their way back and tie it up late in the third period on the power play. Ryan Cagnoni, Tomas Nemeth and Ivan Bondarenko did the scoring for the Blazers all in the first period.

Blazers goaltender Filip Kostka was solid againg for OKC turning away 45 shots on the night.

Eagles defenseman Trevor Hines scored the series clinching goal at the 11:33 minute mark of overtime.
