The Oklahoma City Blazers blasted the visiting Mountain Division Cheyenne Stampede on Friday by almost two touchdowns. When the final buzzer sounded the Blazers had scored 12 goals on 41 shots which is a franchise record for goals in a game.  Counterman Pavel Oxiouta led the charge with a goal and 4 assists and goaltender Filip Kostka secured his 2nd shutout of the season making 20 saves on 20 shots.  OKC had 14 different players register points and head coach Tyler Fleck was pleased with the effort.

“We were very sluggish in the first but guys got it going. It was good to be able to give some of our role guys some good ice time to work on things. Cheyenne is better than what they showed tonight. They were just off and I know we will see a much better team tomorrow. Focus and execution is the most important thing for us right now. If we aren’t focused and don’t play as a team we won’t have success. Tomorrow will be a battle.”

With the win OKC  improves to 9-1 on the season and sit atop the Midwest division.

The Blazers and Stampede play game 2 of the three game series tomorrow at 3pm. There will be a halloween costume contest and a post game trick or treat skate with the players.
