The Oklahoma City Blazers began their quest for the Thorne Cup by demolishing the visiting El Paso Rhinos 10-2 in game 1 of the Midwest divison semifinals. Blazers forward Ivan Bondarenko was unstoppable posting 3 goals and 3 assists on the night. Linemate Kirill Romanov had 2 goals and 3 assists as the Blazers controlled the game from start to finish. OKC netminder Filip Kostka turned away 28 of 30 shots to record the win between the pipes for the Blazers.

Game 2 will go Saturday at 7PM at the Blazers Ice Centre. If OKC can win again they will advance to the Divison Finals next weekend.
