Blazers Sign Power Forward

Blazers Sign Eric Lietz The Oklahoma City Blazers announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Eric Lietz. The 6’2” 220 pound Chicago native, played last year for the Calgary Mustangs of the Alberta Jr Hockey League. Lietz has racked up 317 penalty minutes over his 81 game junior career. “This guy is going to be a nightmare for the opposition. He’s a big strong guy that can play and loves to run people over, “ said head coach and GM Tyler Fleck. “Eric will bring an enormous physical presence to our team. It’s something we need and I strongly believe in. Lietz is a guy that will keep our opponent honest.” The timing of Lietz arrival couldn’t have come at a better time as the Blazers look forward to a weekend showdown in Springfield without Dominik Vlk, the team’s point leader. Vlk will be serving a 2 game suspension he received after a fight in the last five minutes vs Tulsa Saturday night. The Blazers may also be without Captain Hunter Smith who left the game on Saturday with a lower body injury. Oklahoma City will play live on Fasthockey.com this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
