The Oklahoma City Blazers Junior Hockey Club announced today that they have signed young veteran goaltender Ben Perone. The 6 foot tall native of Rockville, Maryland played last year as member of the Washington Jr Nationals.

“Ben comes to us on very high recommendation from Jason Wolfe our head scout. Last year Ben played for a struggling team and saw alot of rubber. It is important that we have young guys in our line up that have played at the jr level already, they know what it takes to compete at this level,” said head coach and GM Tyler Fleck. “Wolfe said that Ben will come here and give us an opportunity to win hockey games and push for the starting job, that’s exactly what we want.”

“A couple of my previous coaches had played for and against the Blazers professional teams in the past, I have heard nothing but great things about the city and about the atmosphere that surrounded the team. I know the old Blazers had phenomenal fan support, and I am sure that will continue with the new Blazers generation going forward,” stated Perone. “Although this be our first year as a team (in the WSHL), I fully expect to make the playoffs and plan on winning a national championship.”

The Blazers begin their inaugural season as members of the WSHL this fall and
host the Dallas Ice Jets in the home opener on October 24th. For Tickets call 405-888-0195 or email info@okcblazershockey.com.
