The Oklahoma City Blazers beat the visiting Tulsa Oilers in a thrilling double OT game 4-3 on Thanksgiving eve. A Blazer Ice Centre record of 1004 fans witnessed Johan Sorkin’s game winning goal midway through the second overtime to give the first place Blazers the win over in state rival Tulsa. Oklahoma City built a 3 goal lead only to have Tulsa rally to tie the game late in the third forcing the dramatic finish infront of the capacity crowd in south OKC. Blazer captain Michal Beranek charged up the ice and drove the Tulsa defender wide feeding a speeding Johan “The Bullet” Sorkin on the back door to win the game for the Blazers. Kirill Romanov had a pair of goals for the B’s and Adam Skutchan also added a single tally to round out the scoring for the Blazers.

Filip Kostka was credited with the win in goal for OKC and improves to a perfect 13-0 on the season.

The Blazers are off for Thanksgiving and return to action next Wednesday in Tulsa. The next Blazers home game is Saturday December 5th vs the same Tulsa Oilers. Another sellout is expected as these two teams battle for bragging rights in the state of Oklahoma.
