The Oklahoma City Blazers announced today that they have been awarded the first ever WSHL All Star Game and Skills Competition. This season’s All Star Game will take place on January 2nd, 2016. This game will feature an unusual, but sure to be an extremely popular format for the local fan base as the WSHL All Stars will take on the hometown Oklahoma City Blazers.

Blazers President and Head Coach Tyler Fleck proposed the concept to the board of governors and it was approved for the upcoming season at last weeks meetings in Las Vegas.

“I had the opportunity to play in an All Star game that had a similar format back in ’09. Compared to the other ones I had played in, this format turned it into a real game. The host team’s sellout crowd was in it from start to finish. It was a lot of fun for both sides,” said Fleck

The Blazers will host the “new” style All Star Game this year and then the league will move it to another city in the WSHL for the next year.

“This will be a great mid season recognition for the players and coaches. I know it’s going to be exciting. We will work to make sure this a first class event for everyone to enjoy.”
