Blazers Announce Preseason Schedule

As the 2017-18 WSHL season rapidly approaches, the Oklahoma City Blazers have secured their opponent and dates for their preseason schedule. This season, the Blazers will be competing against the Missouri State University Ice Bears in a home-and-home series, beginning on September 2nd.

In a Labor Day weekend contest, the Blazers will welcome the Ice Bears to the Blazers Ice Centre, with puck drop set for 4pm. The Ice Bears compete as a part of the ACHA’s Western Collegiate Hockey League, finishing the 2016-17 season with a 14-25-1-0 record. This past off-season, the Ice Bears completed a change behind the bench, hiring former Springfield Express head coach Jeremy Law.

The series concludes the following weekend, in Missouri, on September 9th.

The series will mark the first time for Blazers head coach Gary Gill to stand behind the bench in a game situation. In conjunction with training camp, the preseason games will provide coach Gill with a chance to watch his team in a game-situation as he fills out and completes the Blazers roster.

As the Blazers and WSHL regular season schedules continue to be finalized, stay tuned to the Blazers Twitter and Facebook channels for further information and its release.
