Blazers Add Forward Josh Chamberlain

The Oklahoma City Blazers and Head Coach Gary Gill announced today that they have signed forward Josh Chamberlain for the 2017-18 Western States Hockey League season. Last season, Chamberlain scored a career-high 63 points (24 goals, 39 assists) in 46 games with the Missoula Jr. Bruins of the NA3HL.

Hailing from Missoula, Montana, Chamberlain is no stranger to the WSHL, having played for the Missoula Mailers in previous seasons. Chamberlain is also no stranger to an Oklahoma City teammate in Connor Dunn. “One of my best friends, Connor Dunn, played in Oklahoma City last season and said he truly loved it.”

Regarding his decision to choose OKC, Chamberlain continued, “After talking to Coach Gill, he and I have the same plan, and that’s to win a championship.”

Standing 6-foot-5, and weighing in at 190 pounds, Chamberlain describes his game as a two-way forward, with a scoring touch. “I love to move the puck around, but also take a lot of pride in my d-zone abilities.”

Heading into this season, Chamberlain stands focused on his development as he looks ahead to the next level. “I’m hoping to improve my foot speed and my play away from the puck. I believe working with Coach Gill will truly sharpen my skills for college hockey.”
